Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Poison Ivy

Gugu Mbatha-Raw has been in so many wonderful things over the course of her career. Is there anything she can’t do? Based on her performances in A Wrinkle in Time, Beauty and the Beast, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance and many more projects, the answer is a resounding no.

Mbatha-Raw made her superhero debut in 2018’s Fast Color, a movie that did well but wasn’t a massive hit. She’ll make her Marvel debut as Judge Renslayer in Disney+’s upcoming MCU drama Loki, which pretty much guarantees a certain level of success. Apparently, according to a report from Deadline, she was in the running to be cast in Birds of Prey. Obviously, that never came to be.

Mbatha-Raw clearly loves the superhero genre, so it’s time to raise her profile and see what she can do with a major role. I can already see her as the lady of leaves alongside Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. It could be a perfect match.
