Loki release time: When will new episodes debut on Disney+?
As if Loki wasn’t already known as the Trickster God, the new Loki series on Disney+ is changing things up by launching on Wednesdays instead of Thursdays. It’s a subtle shift, but it’s very welcome among fans eager to see the series come to life. So when will new episodes debut on Disney+?
Loki premieres on Wednesday, June 9, with new episodes dropping onto the Disney+ streaming platform at midnight PST and 3:00 a.m. EST every Wednesday thereafter. Though the show could benefit from a more family and people-who-have-to-work-in-the-morning premiere time, the system has been working for Disney+ thus far so why change it.
Despite the early morning release, plenty of fans have either stayed up late or set an alarm to get up early to watch The Mandalorian, WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, so expect to see the same thing with Loki.
New episodes of Loki will drop at midnight Pacific every Wednesday
The new Marvel Studios series will feature six episodes, the same as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Though fans would love to have more episodes of Loki, the upside is that out of all the new Marvel series headed to Disney+, Loki is the series that is most likely to return for multiple seasons, since the story will take the character into unexplored territory.
Loki died at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War when Thanos killed him in front of his brother Thor. However, when the remaining Avengers went back in time to retrieve the infinity stones in Avengers: Endgame, the God of Mischief was able to grab the Tesseract and disappear. He’d just been arrested after his siege upon New York, so this Loki is from the past.
Future Loki is dead, but this version is very much alive and full of mischief. The Time Variance Authority (TVA) has captured him, but odds are they won’t be able to hold him for long.
Fans have been very excited for Loki’s premiere. As one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he has quite a following and his fans would love to see more of him. That 3:00 a.m. EST premiere time might be in the dead of night but there will be lots of people staying up late to see the newest Marvel series come to life on June 9.
