New looks at See season 2, Issac Asimov show Foundation, and more
By Dan Selcke
Jason Momoa returns as a blind warrior in See season 2, Isaac Asimov’s Foundation series gets an adaptation, and more. Apple TV+ shows it all off in a new trailer:
Not to be outdone by Netflix’s ”Geeked Week,” Apple has released a supercut of all the new stuff coming to Apple TV+. It’s light on release dates but long on intriguing big swings from a company that has the money to keep Apple TV+ going for as long as it wants, although it’s still a comparatively minor player in the streaming wars.
Take a look below:
We’ve got glimpses of the second season of See, starring Jason Momoa as blind warrior Baba Voss, who’s making his way in a post-apocalyptic future where most people have lost their sight. There’s a glimpse at Foundation, Apple’s adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s…ahem…foundational sci-fi series about an attempt to save a galactic empire from collapse. There’s also a glimpse of Invasion, a new series about an worldwide alien invasion as seen through the eyes of different characters around the globe.
In fact, apparently Apple is so excited about that one that it gave us a full trailer, below:
The first three episode of Invasion come out on October 22, with the remaining seven to air weekly thereafter. We don’t have many release dates for the other stuff, but Apple says they’re all coming between now and the end of fall.
A full trailer for See season 2 came later:
And of course there’s other, non-sci-fi stuff in there too, like looks at new seasons of comedies The Morning Show and Ted Laslo, a new series called Schmigadoon! about a couple (Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key) who find themselves in a town where everyone is living inside a 1940s Hollywood musical, and more.
Apple TV+ is building up a nice library of content. Perhaps it can dominate the streaming wars yet.
