The Umbrella Academy season 3 episode titles revealed
By Dan Selcke
The world’s most dysfunctional superhero family returns with The Umbrella Academy season 3, and Netflix just dropped a bunch of new info.
It’s amazing how many superhero series are on the air nowadays, and how many are hits. Take The Umbrella Academy, Netflix’s drama about a dysfunctional superhero family just lately arrived back from the 1960s, where they got caught up in the events of the Kennedy assassination. At the end of season 2, they made it back to their own time only to find a new super-powered family in their place, which portends weird things for the episodes ahead.
It’s all part and parcel for The Umbrella Academy, which errs on the comedic side of the superhero spectrum. The other day, Netflix announced the titles of all 10 episodes coming in season 3. Check ’em out:
- “Meet the Family”
- “The World’s Biggest Ball of Twine”
- “Pocket Full of Lightning”
- “Kugelblitz”
- “Kindest Cut”
- “Marigold”
- “Auf Wiedersehen”
- “Wedding at the End of the World”
- “Six Bells”
- “Oblivion”
Obviously, “Meet the Family” refers to the seven members of the “Sparrow Academy” who have taken the place of the Umbrella Academy in this new timeline. As SyFy Wire points out, some of the titles refer to the Hotel Oblivion, an inter-dimensional prison that holds the team’s captured enemies from The Umbrella Academy comics by Gerard Way.
“We’re doing a wilder, bigger, zanier season than ever before,” said showrunner Steve Blackman. “And I think our emotional stores between this dysfunctional family, we’re just building it up even more. There are some very big surprises with the family this year, there are some amazing changes that people will love to dig into, and there’s a lot of growth for this family this year in a way that people are just not gonna expect.”
Unfortunately, we don’t have a premiere date yet, but with filming ongoing, hopefully season 3 will arrive by the end of the year.
Netflix is blowing the lid off lots of series this week as part of “Geeked Week.” If you missed some of the other announcements, we’ve got you covered:
