Many fans will agree that season 6 of Fear The Walking Dead has been one of, if not the finest season of the show so far. If this weekend’s finale — “The Beginning” — follows through, that will be all but certain.
In the previous episode, “USS Pennsylvania,” villain Teddy (John Glover) launched a missile as part of his plan to tear down what’s left of civilization so humanity can rebuilt better. Once again, the worst threats to the human species come from other humans, not the undead.
Now that the missile is officially airborne, there’s only so much our group can do. The ultimate outcome is inevitable. And so the finale sees the group scramble for safe places underground to ride out the coming explosion. And now you can watch the opening minutes to the season finale below!
Characters scramble to survive in the finale of Fear the Walking Dead
The sequence follows Rachel (Brigitte Kali Canales), who was part of Morgan’s group. She bears witness to the missile about to come crashing down to Earth. After severely injuring her leg, she knows it’s impossible for her to carry her child to safety. And that’s when the teaser cuts out.
It’s a pretty safe bet that Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) will survive the blast, since Teddy locked her away underground. For everyone else, safety is going to be a scramble, because the risk of being obliterated by the the missile is very real. To make things harder, the group is completely spread out. Strand is on his own. Morgan and Grace are still together in the submarine. Dwight and Sherry are together. And Sarah, Daniel, Wes and the others are all out on the road.
The Fear The Walking Dead season 6 finale is currently available to watch for AMC+ subscribers. For everyone else, it premieres Sunday on AMC.
