George R.R. Martin is working on Elden Ring, the Obi-Wan sets leaks, and a new Lord of the Rings movie is coming. We talk about all of it and more:

On Take the Black, we love discussing George R.R. Martin’s progress (or lack thereof) when it comes to writing The Winds of Winter, the long-awaited next book in his Song of Ice and Fire franchise. And that’s precisely what we do in this week’s new episode of Take the Black. The topic was back in the news this week as FromSoftware debuted a trailer for its new video game Elden Ring, on which Martin helped develop the mythology. Is Martin allowed to work on other projects? Let us be the judge of that!

Listen to what we have to say about that and other topics in the episode below:

In addition to Martin, we also discuss the newly announced Lord of the Rings animated movie coming soon. Are they just riding the wave of the Lord of the Rings hype now that the Amazon Prime series is coming? (Well, yes.) But will it be successful? Only time can tell.

Then, we go over the latest, top-secret photos leaked straight from the set of Obi-Wan Kenobi, starring the likes of Ewan McGregor and Thrones alum Indira Varma. And as always, we talk about what we’ve been watching: Loki had another strong episode, and we agree that In the Heights was very charming… and had Lin-Manuel Miranda written all over it, for better or for worse.
