For The Walking Dead fans, Thursday is going to be the best day of the week. This is because AMC has confirmed that they will be releasing new Walking Dead season 11 content — be it pictures, teasers, trailers, etc — every Thursday leading up to the much-anticipated premiere! This week, they offered up four new images from the final season, plus a very interesting synopsis.
We need only look at Robert Kirkman’s comics to see where the final season is heading. Our group will be meeting the Commonwealth, a highly advanced but dysfunctional community governed by Pamela Milton. Our group has already encountered the powerful Commonwealth military in “Splinter,” and things didn’t quite go according to plan. In our first new image Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura), Ezekiel (Khary Payton) look safe and sound, but could they be planning an escape?
Next up, we have a bunch of walkers inside what looks like a train. There’s not much to see here. Hopefully, those who encounter these walkers escape with their lives:
Now for a look at Carol (Melissa McBride), Magna (Nadia Hilker) and Kelly (Angel Theory). They all appear happy to see something. Who (or what) could it be? Your guess is as good as mine:
Lastly, we have what is perhaps the most interesting of all these first images. It shows a group of survivors traveling through a tunnel. It’s likely that this is a train track, given the walkers we saw in the other picture. We don’t know what they’re looking for, but the characters involved make for an interesting dynamic. Both Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) are together, which could mean danger since Maggie has been out to kill Negan ever since he murdered Glenn.
Also involved in this escapade are Daryl (Norman Reedus), Dog, and a ton of other people.
These pictures are pretty cool, and there’s a lot more to come. Roll on, Thursdays!

As well as showing off new stills, Skybound has unveiled an intriguing synopsis detailing some of the trials and tribulations our survivors will encounter in the final season. Turns out tensions rise due to the dire food situation as well as threats from other groups. Read the entire synopsis for yourself:
"Previously on The Walking Dead, our survivors confronted past demons and combatted new threats, with friendships and relationships suffering from the mounting collateral damage that is the apocalypse. Alexandria is severely compromised, left a former shell of the home it once was from the carnage and devastation left behind by the Whisperers. Now all who live in Alexandria struggle to refortify it and feed its increasing number of residents, which include the survivors from the fall of the Kingdom and the burning of Hilltop; along with Maggie and her new group, the Wardens. Alexandria has more people than it can manage to feed and protect. Their situation is dire as tensions heat up over past events and self-preservation rises to the surface within the ravaged walls. They must secure more food while they attempt to restore Alexandria before it collapses like countless other communities they have come across throughout the years. But where and how? More haggard and hungrier than ever before, they must dig deeper to find the effort and strength to safeguard the lives of their children, even if it means losing their own.Meanwhile, unbeknownst to those at Alexandria, Eugene, Ezekiel, Yumiko, and Princess are still being held captive by mysterious soldiers who are members of a larger and unforthcoming group."
Do you see anything interesting in there? Well, we now know that Maggie’s group calls themselves the Wardens. As always with teasers like this, the more we learn, the less we know. We’ll have to wait and see, but with the full trailer dropping in a matter of weeks, the excitement is just beginning.
To further build hype, AMC will drop “The Walking Dead: Origins,” which provides a detailed catch-up on four fan-favorite characters. Here’s when you can see them:
