Mark Hamill tells his fans NOT to buy this Star Wars merchandise
By Ashley Hurst
The Star Wars universe is famous for merch. There are literally thousands of awesome pieces of merchandise to choose from, from replica lightsabers to action figures to LEGO sets and well beyond. But with so much merch out there, some of it may be a little odd. And Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) was not impressed over merch commemorating the moment when Darth Vader chops off Luke Skywalker’s hand in The Empire Strikes Back.
Hamill took to Twitter to share his very strong opinion on what he called “Luke Dismemberment Merch” based on this iconic movie moment. “Collectibles that commemorate a grievous bodily injury… what’s wrong with these people?!!” he wrote. “Just say NO.”
Mark Hamill remembers “I am your father” scene
Speaking of that scene, Hamill also recently answered a question that’s been on fans’ minds for a while. Exactly how many takes did it take him to nail Luke’s scream of denial after Vader declared himself to be Luke’s father? According to Hamill, the roar of the wind machines rendered his own roar unusable. His actual lines were filled in during post-production, a common practice on movies.
Mark Hamill’s Twitter account is among the best in the galaxy. The actor is always sharing interesting behind-the-scenes tidbits as well as jokes. Now, Hamill has also joined TikTok after calling out a fake account trying to impersonate him. He’s already posted three videos. His first nearly racked up a crazy seven million viewers. The Force is with Hamill, always.
