The Wheel of Time showrunner Rafe Judkins, who is already working on season 2 of the Amazon show, promises a trailer coming soon.

If all the big-time fantasy series coming down the pike, The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime Video may be the one I’m most excited for. Robert Jordan’s series is a pillar of modern fantasy writing, but for various reasons has never gotten a proper onscreen adaptation. But in a post-Game of Thrones world where fantasy is all the rage, it’s finally happening, and coming by the end of the year, no less.

Amazon has released little snippets of footage from the show so far, but we haven’t gotten anything that could be described as a trailer. But showrunner Rafe Judkins gave fans hope at the recently held JordanCon, where he made a remote appearance:

Judkins couldn’t be at the con personally because he’s “In Prague, just getting started on season 2 of The Wheel of Time.” That’s exciting all by itself; there are 14 books in The Wheel of Time series, so obviously one season isn’t going to cut it.

“We have a lot more coming out soon,” Judkins continues, “there should be a trailer dropping by the end of the summer.” Perhaps it’ll show up at Comic-Con@Home, which will run this very weekend? That’s the most obvious choice.

The Wheel of Time tells the story of a group of rural farm folk who go off on a grand adventure that will see them traverse the world, interact with all sorts of far-flung civilizations, and face down an ancient evil. We don’t have an exact premiere date for The Wheel of Time yet, but we know it’s coming sometime in 2021. We’ll probably learn more in that trailer.

Next. Let’s rank all 14 books in The Wheel of Time series. dark
