Game of Thrones fans know him as Ser Jorah Mormont. To Titans fans he’s Bruce Wayne. To Emilia Clarke, he’s Iain Glen, her costar for eight seasons on HBO’s fantasy phenomenon. And now, the Daenerys Targaryen actor is celebrating Glen’s arrival on Instagram.

“The man. The myth. The LEGEND,” Clarke wrote, complete with terrific pictures from behind the scenes of Game of Thrones. “@iainglen60 HAS JOINED INSTAGRAM! ‘KHHHALLEEESSSSIIIII!!!’ My hero and my guide for over a decade… please instaworld show this man the lovin he deserves.”

Glen’s Instagram handle, appropriately, is IainGlen60. The actor celebrated his 60th birthday in June. He replied with a heartfelt message on Clarke’s post: “Thanks Angel. Wonderful memories are flooding back. XO”

Not surprisingly, it wasn’t long before the official Game of Thrones Instagram account welcomed the venerated alum by posting an their own comment on Clarke’s post: “Welcome to the realm, @IanGlen60.”

Glen also posted a tribute to Clarke on his own page, alongside another behind-the-scenes photo: “Not just a BRILLIANT actress but the loveliest and kindest of friends.”

“Oh my hero,” Clarke replied.

It’s always a special moment when actors from beloved franchises join social media and share their lives with fans. And though Game of Thrones is over, seeing members of the cast interacting anew brings back fond memories of the series.

The timing of Glen’s debut on social media is auspicious. The Game of Thrones alum can be seen as Bruce Wayne on the HBO Max series Titans, which returns for season 3 on August 12.
