Orlando Bloom shows off his Lord of the Rings archery skills: “Still got it”

Actors are always learning new skills to help bring their characters to life. Orlando Bloom has played a variety of characters over the years, and though it’s been a while since he last played Legolas the elf, the actor revealed on Instagram that his archery skills are right on target.

The actor can be seen with his trusty longbow shooting at a target. Both arrows hit a bullseye, inspiring him to caption the post with “still got it”. With his perfect form, we can’t help but agree.

The Lord of the Rings star Orlando Bloom has been a pirate, an elf and a halfling

Bloom’s archery prowess is still on point 20 years after playing Legolas in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, which celebrates its anniversary in December. The franchise is still going strong as Amazon Prime Video forges ahead with a new television show set in Middle-earth. A new animated feature is also in the works.

In other words, Bloom is showing fans that he could jump back into action if he gets the call. And he’s already part of the Amazon Prime family after starring in 2019’s high fantasy drama Carnival Row.

Though he learned archery for his Lord of the Rings role, that kind of training has come in useful elsewhere. As pirate Will Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Bloom trained intensively to fight with swords.

These days, Bloom is living his best life with partner Katy Perry and their daughter Daisy Dove. He will soon appear as Prince Harry in the upcoming film The Prince, and he’s getting ready to return to Carnival Row after the show was given a second season pickup in 2020.
