A Halloween LEGO Star Wars special is coming to Disney+
When hinges creak in doorless chambers in the middle of a galaxy far, far away, then you know it’s time for Terrifying Tales, an all-new Halloween special set in the LEGO Star Wars universe. According to SyFy Wire, the new holiday special is coming to Disney+ on October 1, 2021. There’s even a poster!
Set after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, the story picks up on Mustafar as Poe Dameron and BB-8 have landed for repairs. Along the way they’re introduced to Graballa the Hutt, a mobster making Vader’s castle into the galaxy’s newest resort destination, and Graballa’s mechanic Dean.
Darth Vader’s servant Vanee takes the group on a tour of the castle, and along the way Vanee keeps them entertained with frightening tales of the macabre. The official synopsis explains how this concept all comes together to serve up some haunting chills and thrills:
"Along the way, Vanee shares three creepy stories linked to ancient artifacts and iconic villains from across all eras of Star Wars. As Vanee spins his tales and lures our heroes deeper into the shadowy underbelly of the castle, a sinister plan emerges. With the help of Dean, Poe and BB-8 will have to face their fears, stop an ancient evil from rising and escape to make it back to their friends."
Halloween and LEGO Star Wars collide in Terrifying Tales
Disney has been making more holiday special based on Star Wars and Marvel of late. We already had a LEGO Star Wars Christmas special, if you’ll remember, and don’t forget James Gunn’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy holiday special.
Terrifying Tales features the voice talent of Tony Hale (Vanee), Christian Slater (Ren), Jake Green (Poe Dameron), Dana Snyder (Graballa the Hutt), Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (NI-L8) and Matt Sloan (Darth Vader). Ken Cunningham directed the story from a script by David Shayne. You can stream it on October 1.
