There is absolutely no denying that The Wheel of Time season 1 is one of, if not the most anticipated titles of the year. From the moment it was first announced Amazon would be adapting Robert Jordan’s 14-book fantasy series into a live-action series, fans have been anxiously counting down the days until the show’s arrival.

Given the scale of the project, Amazon has understandably been hard at work on the series which has been in development for several years now. The good news is that the wait for season 1 is nearly over. The bad news is that The Wheel of Time season 1 will not be coming to Amazon in August 2021.

That’s right, Amazon has revealed the complete list of titles set to drop across the month of August and The Wheel of Time is once again absent from the line-up.

Considering August has turned out to be a slower month for television, dropping The Wheel of Time this month definitely could have given fans a big event series to enjoy. Instead, Amazon seems to have plans to use The Wheel of Time to draw viewers in closer to the end of the year in setting their sites on a fall release for season 1.

The Wheel of Time season 1 release date

Although The Wheel of Time season 1 will not be coming out in August, the good news is that Amazon has confirmed the series will be coming in 2021. Even better, we now know in which month to expect the first season to premiere!

As announced during the show’s Comic-Con@Home panel, the first season of Amazon’s ambitious fantasy series will arrive sometime in November 2021. Beyond confirming the series will debut in November, Amazon has not yet confirmed the official release date but at least we know in what month to expect the series to debut and an official premiere date should be coming any day now.

Considering the series will be coming in November, it’s possible Amazon could steal a page from Disney Plus and look to release the first episode(s) sometime around the Thanksgiving holiday.  In launching Hawkeye on Wednesday, Nov. 24, it’s clear that Disney Plus is hoping to capitalize on the Thanksgiving holiday by giving viewers something new to enjoy while taking some time off.

Given Amazon tends to release its originals on Friday, a Nov. 26 release date for The Wheel of Time could help give the show a successful launch. After all, who doesn’t enjoy relaxing and enjoying a good show or movie after you’ve finished your Black Friday shopping?!
