The trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home leaked this morning, but the effects were unfinished and it was recorded on a phone. Here’s the real deal!
Sony and Marvel had a rough go of it this morning when the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home leaked onto the internet in an unfinished state. But all’s well that ends well, as the studios have now put out the official, finished trailer for Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) next adventure. Watch below:
So it looks like all the rumors about this movie were basically true, at least in the broad strokes: the plot involves Spider-Man and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) traveling to alternate dimensions, in this case because Peter botches a spell Doctor Strange is happening to make everyone forget that Peter Parker is actually Spider-Man, which they learned at the end of 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home.
But what about the rumors of actors from past Spider-movies making appearances? We see Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, reprising his role from 2004’s Spider-Man 2. The trailer hints at others: there’s a flash of light that probably comes from Jamie Foxx’s Electro, and a pumpkin bomb that may have been thrown by Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin.
Will Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield show up as past Spider-Men? The teaser doesn’t tell us, but I’m going to go ahead and say of course they are; the point of this movie is hit fans right in the nostalgia bone and the producers won’t stop until it shatters.
Spider-Man: No Way Home comes out on December 17.
