Jeffrey Dean Morgan is Omni-Man from Invincible in stunning image
By WiC Staff
Invincible is officially a hit on Amazon Prime Video. The animated adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s comic book follows Mark Greyson, a normal teenager who just so happens to be the son of Omni-Man, the world’s most powerful superhero. Things start out innocently enough, and then they get…intense.
The show is coming back for more seasons on Amazon, but there’s also an effort to make a live-action movie, although we don’t know a ton about it yet. “This is another one of those things that’s a little early going but I will say that there are massive efforts going in to make sure that the film experience is unique [and separate from the animated series]…while also being true to Invincible,” Kirkman said at this year’s Comic-Con. “I couldn’t be more excited about the stuff that we’re doing but I can’t tell you yet.”
We’re probably still a ways off from hearing any formal casting announcements for this project, but of course fans have their favorite choices. One of them is The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Omni-Man. More than one artist has imagined what that might look like.

Morgan as Omni-Man makes a lot of sense. For one, he’s familiar with Kirkman’s work thanks to playing Negan on The Walking Dead for years, so there’s already a relationship there. And he has the look, acting skill, and presence to pull off a character like Omni-Man, who is at once caring and paternal but also very competitive and even dangerous.
We shouldn’t expect Invincible season 2 until 2022 at the earliest, and the live-action movie — if it goes forward at all — sometime after that.
