If you remember going to the movie theaters to watch the very first Harry Potter film way back when, we have some news for you: It’s almost been 20 years since that day! Yes, that’s right, the franchise is celebrating its 20th anniversary this November.

The Wizarding World is kicking off the anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in theaters with four months of celebration that look back on two decades of magic. Earlier today, things kicked off with a live digital event, “Back to Hogwarts Day.” Check out the festivities:

The event was made possible thanks to the Harry Potter Fan Club and was hosted by Yinka Bokinni, a celebrity DJ and Harry Potter superfan. Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) was front and center at the event to reminisce about his time as the franchise’s infamous villain.

The Harry Potter movies turn 20 years old

Felton hinted at his appearance earlier this week with an adorable post on Instagram. The guy loves staying connected to fan and takes any opportunity to be a part of watch parties and the like. In fact, he’s organized a handful of events over the last year, including a celebration for last year’s 19th anniversary.

In the Instagram video above, Felton is lip-syncing dialogue from the first film, but instead of Draco’s, he’s doing Harry Potter and Ron Weasley’s parts. Oh, Tom Felton, we love your silliness!

As Potterheads all over the world get hyped to celebrate the 20th anniversary, many can now go watch all eight films in select Harkins Theatres through the end of this month. And if you can’t make it to your local Harkins (or don’t have one near you), then starting today, you can now watch all eight Harry Potter films on HBO Max.
