Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett is not coming to Disney+ in September 2021

In the second season of The Mandalorian, fans were treated to the unexpected return of Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison), last seen falling into the Sarlacc Pit in Return of the Jedi where he would purportedly be digested slowly and painfully before dying an unlamented death.

But no! He escaped that predicament and returned to fight (and then team up with) Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal). And now he’s getting his own show: The Book of Boba Fett, which will premiere on Disney+ this year.

But when exactly do we get to watch it? Unfortunately, it won’t be this month.

The Book of Boba Fett release date

The Book of Boba Fett will premiere on Disney+ sometime in December of this year; we don’t know anything more specific than that, but surely Disney will update us before long — the clock is ticking.

As for what it’s about, it looks like the show will revolve around Boba and bounty hunter Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) running Jabba the Hutt’s old criminal empire. Odds are they’ll get mixed up in whatever Din Djarin (and hopefully Baby Yoda) are doing over on The Mandalorian. And there’s another show set in the same timeline about Ahsoka Tano, played by Rosario Dawson.

Disney obviously has big plans for this Star Wars Television Universe it’s building, and we’ll get to see them lay the next brick when The Book of Boba Fett premieres on Disney+ in December.

Next. Timothée Chalamet felt “supported” by the superstar cast of Dune. dark
