Seriously, where is Rick Grimes, though? Fans of The Walking Dead have been asking this question for the last couple of years, and we really need our answer! We were promised Rick Grimes movies, but a worldwide pandemic put a pin in production plans.

But perhaps, now, things may slowly begin to unravel as we head into the second and final season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond. The last time we saw Rick Grimes was when he was being lifted away on a CRM (Civic Republic Military) helicopter alongside Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh). The CRM was a big part of the first season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond, so it seemed inevitable that Rick Grimes would at least be mentioned or even seen. That didn’t happen, but things could turn around.

The trailer for World Beyond season 2 just dropped, and it revealed that McIntosh will be reprising her role as Jadis. And since Rick Grimes was last seen with Jadis…does this think what we think it means?

In the latest trailer, Jadis is seen with shorter hair than when we last saw her wearing a black CRM uniform. We hear her say, “I know that the Civic Republic is the last light of the world. My purpose is to create a new era on this planet.” Interesting, very interesting.

So she’s clearly in cahoots with the CRM (the organization with the three rings logo), and I’m not so sure that’s a great thing. They’re an authoritarian society, after all. Is it possible Rick has gotten caught up in their mess? Is he being held against his will? Is he even alive? (He better be, he’s got movies to do!)

The second season of The Walking Dead: World Beyond premieres on October 3 (AMC+ subscribers can watch episodes a week early). Hopefully, the series is finally ready to link back to the mother show and provide some answers about Rick.

“We are thrilled to have the terrific Pollyanna McIntosh back as Jadis, and we’re excited for viewers to see how she collides with the characters in this part of the Universe,” said executive producer Scott M. Gimple. “In our story, years have passed — we’ll get hints of what happened with that fateful helicopter ride and learn Jadis has new allies and alliances; she is a big part of connecting the CRM and Three Circles mythology that’s seen throughout all three series. We can’t wait to share it all with fans of the TWDU.”

Seriously, tell us what happened on that darn helicopter ride!
