During the COVID-19 pandemic, studios like WarnerMedia have been releasing movies in both theaters and on streaming at the same time. Now, Universal Pictures is hopping on that train by announcing that the highly-anticipated movie Halloween Kills will be available to stream on Peacock the same day it arrives in theaters.

Blumhouse’s sequel to the 2018 Halloween movie will see the return of the infamous slasher Michael Myers, with Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her role as Laurie Strode. In Halloween Kills, Laurie will attempt to turn the tables on Michael, assembling a mob to track him down and kill him for good. Of course, the sequel is only the second film in a trilogy, so we can assume Michael’s track record for never dying will hold, at least for a now.

Halloween Kills was initially supposed to hit theaters in October 2020, but the ongoing health crisis delayed it by a year. With many moviegoers still conflicted about returning to theaters, Universal Pictures’ move will make the film more accessible.

When does Halloween Kills come out?

As for when you can stream Halloween Kills on Peacock, the film will arrive on the platform the same day it hits theaters: October 15. That gives fans plenty of time to watch the slasher flick before Halloween — and maybe schedule a marathon on the holiday as well.

Only Peacock subscribers will have access to the film, so those hoping to watch it at home will have to sign up for NBC Universal’s streaming service. The service costs $4.99 with ads and $9.99 without. That’s cheaper than the average movie ticket, however, and it does give fans more options when it comes to watching the movie.
