The final season of Lucifer has arrived on Netflix, and it is a triumphant victory lap. We review every single episode, one last time.

No one likes an ending, but the good folks who have brought Lucifer to life know how to do endings well. Lucifer season 6 is a very special season, and the ten episodes that make up the season will remain some of the most beloved episodes of the entire series. Let’s take a deep dive into each of the season 6 episodes.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that co-showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson know how to write endings. After all, they’ve written three endings for the show. Netflix picked up the series for a fourth season after fans rallied to save it after Fox gave Lucifer the ax after season 3. Season 4 was supposed to be the final season, but it gave rise to season 5. Supersized season 5 was supposed to be the end, until season 6 came along.

Season 6 is special. Written and filmed during the global pandemic, the sixth season is a chance for loose ends to be tied up, for characters to have some resolution and for Deckerstar to get their happy ending.

Lucifer season 6 delivers on all fronts and in truth it’s the best season of the entire series. It’s full of touching, emotional moments, it’s full of laughs and it’s full of messages about real-life issues that need to be addressed. It’s also full of Chloe and Lucifer doing what they do best: being partners.

In essence, it’s the most fitting end to a series in a long while, and this season-long love letter to fans is the swan song that Lucifer deserves.
