Game of Thrones stars dazzle at the 2021 Met Gala

Last night, celebrities one and all stepped out at The Metropolitan Museum of Art for the annual Met Gala, the year’s premiere opportunity to show off spectacular fashion choices. This year’s theme was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” I have no idea what that means and I don’t particularly care, but I do enjoy looking at cool outfits, and the stars brought them.

Among those stars were a few members of the Game of Thrones cast, including Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Rose Leslie (Ygritte), who married after the show concluded.

It looks like the two of them kept things pretty simple, especially Harington. I did the long train on Leslie’s dress, though:

Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) got a little more experimental with this dark fairy queen number:

She looks like she’s about to walk a runway in an enchanted forest and I love it.

This isn’t the only time a Game of Thrones star has appeared at the Met Gala. Emilia Clarke knocked people’s socks off in 2018 when she made an appearance:

The theme that year was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination.” Again, I don’t really know what that means, and again, I particularly care when the outfits look this cool.

Suggestion for next year’s theme: “Game of Thrones: Lewks Through the Ages.” Hey, it makes as much sense as anything else.
