Gwendoline Christie will play an old rival to Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) in Wednesday, Tim Burton’s new Addams Family show.

Game of Thrones fans fell in love with Gwendoline Christie while she played Brienne of Tarth for seven seasons of HBO’s fantasy mega-hit. Since then, she’s been getting all kinds of exciting new roles, including playing Lucifer in Netflix’s upcoming The Sandman series.

And that’s not the only Netflix gig she’s nailed down. Entertainment Weekly reports that Christie has joined the cast of Wednesday, the streamer’s upcoming series about young Wednesday Addams’ school days, where she’ll thwart a monstrous killing spree and solve a spooky mystery involving her parents from 25 years ago.

Christie will play Larissa Weems, the principal of Wednesday’s school, Nevermore Academy. Larissa is an original character who’s still holding a grudge against Wednesday’s mother Morticia, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones. Luiz Guzman will play her father’s Gomez; quite a cast they’ve got there!

And all eight episodes will be directed by Tim Burton, the man behind such hits as Edward Scissorhands and The Nightmare Before Christmas. With his distinctive style, you’d be forgiven for assuming that Burton had already been involved with the Addams Family franchise, but this is actually his first time interacting the ooky-spooky family. Seems like a good fit, though.

There’s no release date for Wednesday as of yet. Nor do we know when The Sandman is coming out, but we’re sure Christie will be great in both.
