10. Darth Jar Jar short

Ever since Marel’s What If…? series came out, fans have also been toying with the “What If” idea for Star Wars. It’s simple: you take a piece of the canon, and then flip it on its head by asking what if something completely different had happened. For example, what if Padme never loved Anakin? What if Luke was sent to Alderaan? Or… what if Jar Jar Binks were a Sith Lord?

If you’ve spent time around any of the Star Wars subreddits, you’ll find the occasional Darth Jar Jar post. And an artist even imagined what Darth Jar Jar would look like in some incredible fan art. So why not just roll with the idea and turn it into something wickedly beautiful?

This wouldn’t necessarily have to be a whole series. (I mean, we could do that, but let’s aim for simplicity here.) Something quick like a half-hour episode of What If…? would do, or even something shorter than that, like the entires in Star Wars: Visions.

Just imagine a brief snippet of Jar Jar’s life as a Sith. Perhaps he decided to join Anakin on the Dark Side. Or perhaps, due to the rule of two, Palpatine favored the impressionable Jar Jar so much that he decided to make him the Sith apprentice instead of Anakin.

Whatever the case, the world needs to see how ruthless Jar Jar Binks can really get. And we’ll see who’s laughing then.

While some of these Star Wars projects are more likely to happen than others, we can dream about them all. And if Lucasfilm ever does need some new ideas, our list is here to inspire them.
