Watch this behind-the-scenes video from the set of Dune, where Jason Momoa recovers from just having seen the series finale of Game of Thrones last night.

After a long delay, Dune is finally out in theaters…in Europe, where it’s doing pretty well. We in North America will have to wait a bit longer, but Warner Bros. is whetting our appetites with a series of behind-the-scenes videos.

For instance, one video focuses on Jason Momoa, who is playing the character Atreides family swordmaster Duncan Idaho. The part fits Momoa like a glove — Duncan is confident, deadly, and down to earth. It also means Momoa gets to engage in a lot of stuntwork, something he’s pretty used to by now:

Remember: Dune was filmed a while back; the Momoa in this video had no idea the world was about to go into a pandemic or that there would be an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol — what innocent times. Instead, he was recovering from seeing the series finale of Game of Thrones, where Jon Snow infamously kills Daenerys Targaryen after she torches the city of King’s Landing.

Momoa, of course, played Daenerys’ husband Khal Drogo in the very beginning of the series; the role catapulted him to fame, and after his character died in the season finale he was able to take up rolls like Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe and Baba Voss on Apple TV+’s See. He remained a fan of Game of Thrones during its run and periodically cheered on Daenerys’ journey from the sidelines.

So it must have hurt when she died, but he used those feelings to play Duncan Idaho. “I just saw the season finale of Game of Thrones last night,” Momoa says in the video, right before filming a fight scene. “This fight’s for you, Khaleesi.” Daaw.

Dune comes out in theaters in North America on October 22.
