The Mandalorian season 3 may not arrive until 2022, but Star Wars fans can look forward to The Book of Boba Fett later this year. The new Disney+ series will follow fan-favorite bounty hunter Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) after his appearance in The Mandalorian season 2, and according to director Robert Rodriguez, the glimpse we got of the character last year is “nothing” compared to what’s coming.

During a discussion with The Nerdy Basement, Rodriguez played coy about what’s in store for Boba Fett in the upcoming series. However, he did suggest fans should have high expectations:

"Yeah, I can’t say anything about that, sworn to silence. I can say I’m working on it and I can tell you it’s gonna blow your mind. You saw him arrive in my episode of The Mandalorian, that was nothing. That was nothing. I can talk it up all I want because I know it’s gonna deliver, I know it’s gonna over-deliver."

When does The Book of Boba Fett come out on Disney+?

Hopefully, Rodriguez will make good on his promise to “over-deliver” — and with talent like Morrison and Ming-Na Wen headlining The Book of Boba Fett, I’m inclined to believe him.

As for when fans can finally see Rodriguez’s work for themselves, The Book of Boba Fett is currently slated to arrive this December. Although Lucasfilm hasn’t revealed a specific premiere date, the show appears to be taking The Mandalorian’s usual spot in the Disney+ lineup.

We’ll learn more about the new Star Wars show during Disney+ Day on Nov. 12, where it will reportedly have its own “Special Look.” The event may even showcase a trailer or official release date.
