Bailey Bass will take on the role played by Kirsten Dunst in 1994’s Interview With The Vampire, opposite Jacob Anderson (Louis) and Sam Reid (Lestat).

AMC continues to staff up its Interview With The Vampire show, the opening salvo in what the network plans to become a kind of Anne Rice Cinematic Universe. Rice’s 1976 book about tortured bloodsuckers remains her most famous, and was adapted into a 1994 movie starring Brad Pitt as newbie vampire Louis, Tom Cruise as predatory veteran Lestat, and Kirsten Dunst as Claudia, a young girl Lestat turns into a vampire to complete with freaky little family.

In the new show, Louis is played by Game of Thrones veteran Jacob Anderson and Lestat by Australian actor Sam Reid. Now, Entertainment Weekly reports that Bailey Bass will play Claudia.

Being young, Bass doesn’t have a ton of roles under her belt yet, although she is playing a member of the alien Na’vi in several of the upcoming sequels to James Cameron’s Avatar. Between that and Interview With The Vampire, her star is on the rise.

There’s no release date for Interview With The Vampire as of yet, but AMC is clearly prioritizing this show. Its flagship series The Walking Dead is about to end after 11 seasons on the air, but who needs zombies when you can corner the market on vampires?
