Emilia Clarke as Nymphadora Tonks
After watching Emilia Clarke play Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones, it’s jarring to picture her in a more mild role, particularly in another fantasy story. But anyone who’s ever watched the actress do an interview or make an appearance IRL knows that she’s actually quite different from her Game of Thrones character. Clarke is cheerful, fun, and bubbly — all traits that would allow her to tackle Nymphadora Tonks in a Harry Potter reboot quite well.
Tonks is an upbeat, optimistic character for most of Harry Potter (with the exception of when she’s having romantic troubles with Remus Lupin), and she’s got a quirky humor that Clarke has already captured in characters like Lou Clarke from Me Before You, Kate from Last Christmas, and even Qi’ra from Solo: A Star Wars Story. These roles suggest she’d have no problem taking on the clumsiest member of the Order of the Phoenix.
Also, we know Clarke is accustomed to wearing a wig, and she’ll need to if she’s going to accurately capture the Tonks the Metamorphmagus who’s constantly changing her appearance, hair color included!
