A lot happened over the weekend at New York Comic Con, including a shiny new teaser for the upcoming 13th season of Doctor Who, which will be the last for both star Jodie Whittaker and showrunner Chris Chibnall. In a brief clip, the Doctor warns of something known as “the Flux,” which apparently brings with it the Weeping Angels, the the Sontarans, and “creatures known as the Ravages.” It all sounds pretty dire. Watch below:

The upcoming season, which is just called Doctor Who: Flux, will last for eight episodes that all tell one big story; the producers went in that directions because of pandemic-era filming precautions, but it could make for a cool change.

Doctor Who season 13 premieres on October 31. After that, Russell T. Davies — the guy who rebooted the Doctor Who series — will return as showrunner. We don’t know who will replace Whittaker yet.

As long as we’re talking about new teasers for sci-fi shows, we got a bunch of new ones for Star Trek series. First up, we have a trailer for the fourth season of Star Trek: Discovery, which finally finds lead character Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) running the ship:

Star Trek: Discovery season 4 premieres on Paramount+ on November 18.

And if you can’t wait that long, Star Trek: Prodigy — an animated kids show that features the voice talents of Kate Mulgrew as (a hologram of) Captain Kathryn Janeway — is coming a bit sooner. Watch the teaser for that:

Star Trek: Prodigy premieres with an hour-long event on October 28. Fall TV is getting crowded.
