Watch the first teaser trailer for Outlander season 6

Outlander season 6 finally has a trailer! It may only be a minute long, but it is enough to tide us over for the time being. The trailer premiered during the show’s New York Comic Con panel, where Outlander star Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser), author Diana Gabaldon and executive producer Maril Davis were in attendance. Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser), Sophie Skelton (Brianna Fraser), Lauren Lyle (Marsali), César Domboy (Fergus), and John Bell (Ian) joined in virtually.

It’s been a year and a half since Outlander released new episodes, so this teaser trailer was long overdue. It confirms the Droughtlander is nearly over, and that the Frasers will soon be back in our lives, although they’re facing turbulent times ahead.

The minute-long teaser trailer opens up with our favorite characters smiling, kissing, and embracing one another as if they don’t have a worry in the world. But with the American Revolutionary War upon them, that won’t last.

Claire and Jamie watch as a sign reading “Refuse British Goods” is hammered onto a wall. The war presents a lot of problems for the Frasers and everyone living on their land because Jamie has been on and off working with the British crown, and Fraser’s Ridge is built on land that was given to them by the British authorities.

Even Claire, who hails from the future, can’t foresee how their lives are going to change. It’s not going to be smooth sailing for her, especially since she’s also dealing with the aftermath of her assault. It’s going to be a rough season folks, so prepare yourselves!

Outlander season 6 release date

A press releases says the season will ask the question, “What happens when there is disharmony and division among the inhabitants of the home you’ve created? When you become an outsider, or an ‘outlander,’ so to speak, marginalized and rejected in your own home.”

Are the Frasers going to be kicked out of their home? Could this mean a return to Scotland? I have so many questions!

Hopefully, we won’t have to wait long to get the answers. So far, all we have to go on is that Outlander season 6 will premiere “early 2022.” That could be anywhere from January to April. We can only cross our fingers and hope for the former.
