The holiday season is meant to be spent with your loved ones as you gather together and share warmth and magic. And that’s why Disney+ is bringing us someone extra special to spend the holidays with this year: Hawkeye.

Previously, Marvel announced that Hawkeye’s new, self-titled Disney+ series would be premiering on November 24. But today, the company revealed that two episodes of Hawkeye will premiere on on that day, so you and your loved ones can get twice the Hawkeye this Thanksgiving.

On top of that, Marvel also released a new clip that reveals a lot more about the plot of the series, which features Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. Watch below:

Hawkeye series plot

In addition to the video, Disney also released an official synopsis for Hawkeye:

"Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye is an original new series set in post-blip New York City where former Avenger Clint Barton aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. But when a threat from his past shows up, Hawkeye reluctantly teams up with Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), a 22-year-old skilled archer and his biggest fan, to unravel a criminal conspiracy."

So, we wonder what this “criminal conspiracy” is, and who is this “threat from his past”? Those answers remain to be seen. But we suspect that it all loops back to Black Widow.

In the post-credits scene for that film, Natasha Romanoff’s “sister” Yelena visits her grave. At the cemetery, Yelena is approached by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus). Valentina tells Yelena she knows who’s responsible for Natasha’s death, and we see Suspect No. 1 is none other than Clint Barton.

Of course, Hawkeye didn’t kill Black Widow; it was Natasha who voluntarily sacrificed her life so the Soul Stone could present itself to Hawkeye in Endgame. But somehow, word must have gotten around to Valentina that Hawkeye was responsible for Black Widow’s death. Either that or she’s lying to pull Yelena’s strings. We can only assume the targeted attacks against Hawkeye are Valentina’s doing.

Yelena may be Valentina’s last resort as Hawkeye and Kate Bishop evade her henchmen. And by the end of the series, we might see Yelena forgive Clint once she realizes this was all a big misunderstanding. (At least, we hope.) But it makes us wonder, do Clint and Valentina have a vendetta against one another? Is there something that we don’t know about these two?

When does Hawkeye come out on Disney Plus

We don’t have all the answers right now. But we’ve got two episodes of Hawkeye coming out on November 24, so we’ll be getting a lot more information soon.
