Ceara Coveney as Elayne Trakand

We’ve hit a lot of characters in this article, but there are still some big ones who haven’t come up. For example, where’s Elayne, the daughter of Queen Morgase of Andor and heir apparent to her empire? Elayne is a hugely important character who gets introduced in the first Wheel of Time book, The Eye of the World, so surely we’ll see her in the first season of the show, right?

Well, probably not. It looks like Elayne is one of several characters who won’t be introduced until season 2, where she’ll be played by young actor Ceara Coveney; that’s her in the top right corner of the photo collage above. This means the producers are messing with The Wheel of Time’s story a bit, although we don’t know how. In The Eye of the World, Rand meets Elayne almost by happenstance while passing through the city of Caemlyn. Perhaps the show will skip that interlude and introduce Elayne as she she becomes an Aes Sedai trainee along with Egwene and Nynaeve.

As for the other two actors in that collage — Natasha O’Keeffe and Meera Syal — we don’t know who they’re playing, but we know their characters are “important.” Perhaps Syal is playing Verin Mathwin? And O’Keeffe looks like she could pull off Aviendha or Lanfear.

Whew! And that’s everyone we know is in Amazon’s Wheel of Time show so far. And this doesn’t come close to encompassing all of the characters in this story. Amazon’s gonna need several seasons to see this thing through, and we can’t wait to see how it turns out.
