The actors behind Bran Stark, Theon Greyjoy, Joffrey Baratheon and more will be at the Official Game of Thrones Fan Convention early next year!

A while back, HBO announced that it was mounting the Official Game of Thrones Fan Convention, a celebration of all things Westeros to be held at the Rio Hotel & Suites Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 18-20, 2022. Now, they’ve announced the first crop of guests, who include:

  • Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy)
  • Jack Gleeson (Joffrey Baratheon)
  • Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane)
  • Kristian Nairn (Hodor)
  • Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy)
  • Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne)
  • Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark)

And the organizers promise more to come…

Why is HBO putting on this event now? We can’t be sure, but I’d wager it has something to do with promoting the follow-up show House of the Dragon, which will be landing sometime in 2022. What do you want to bet that some of the cast members from that show will turn up? Matt Smith and Emilia Clarke on a panel about Targaryen history, anyone?

You can learn more about the convention on its official website. Tickets are technically on sale now, although only for a couple of several pricing tiers: in ascending order of expense, they are General Single-Day Admission, Preferred Single-Day Admission, Raven Weekend Package, Direwolf Weekend Package, Dragon Weekend Package, and the Iron Throne Weekend Package.

The Raven Weekend Package costs $195, which isn’t absurdly expensive — and remember there are two pricing options even cheaper than that — while the Iron Throne First Row Weekend Pass costs a staggering $1489. You may need to visit the Iron Bank for that one.

Next. Predictions and hopes for the Game of Thrones Official Fan Convention. dark
