You know you’ve made it when you act in a TV show alongside Hollywood royalty like Meryl Streep. By that metric, Game of Thrones veteran Kit Harington (Jon Snow) has most definitely made it. The A.V. Club reports that he’s joined Streep — along with other actors like Daveed Diggs, Gemma Chan, Matthew Rhys, Sienna Miller, and David Schwimmer — in Extrapolations, a new Apple TV+ series that will explore how the world will become different as climate change sets in.
“Most of the storytelling around climate change has focused on the science and getting people to accept it,” creator Scott Z. Burns said of the new anthology series, speaking to Variety. “Our aim with Extrapolations is to move beyond science and use drama, comedy, mystery and every other genre to allow us to consider how every aspect of our world is going to be changing in the years ahead.”
We don’t know who Streep is playing, but Harington is playing an industrial CEO named Nick Bilton, so he’s probably not the good guy in this one.
Harington isn’t the only one keeping impressive company. Variety reports that Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei) will star alongside Emmy-winner Patricia Clarkson in Gray, a spy series based on an original concept by best-selling novelist David Baldacci. Clarkson will play Cornelia Gray, a spy who comes in from the cold after 20 years in hiding only to find that there is a new mole within her old spy network. Perhaps Emmanuel plays the mole?
