The Witcher and The Lord of the Rings crossover in amazing fan art!
By Ashley Hurst
Everyone loves a good crossover. This time, two epic fantasy heavyweights in The Witcher and The Lord of the Rings collide in some jovial artwork depicting characters from each franchise in a tavern… where Geralt of Rivia and Aragorn face-off in an arm-wrestling match to rule them all.
Posted on Reddit by user TheBurningSoda, the fan art by Andy Aslamov managed to gain almost 10,000 points after only a few days. It’s a fantastic piece, centering around the arm-wrestling struggle between the two strongmen from each franchise with tons of recognizable spectators. Take a look:

I really love the number of things going on here, particularly seeing Dandelion whispering tips into Aragorn’s ear. Gimli and Zoltan seem to be having a whole lot of fun too. Looking closely, it appears as if Boromir is reciting his classic “one does not simply” line to Yennefer. One does not simply beat Aragorn in an arm wrestle? And is that Nibbles I see in the background?
We also see two swords resting on the table, too. It looks like Geralt’s sword on the left and Andúril on the right.
Aslamov originally posted the piece on his Artstation page, where he added a neat little description. “You are not prepared. I was just trying to warn this stranger. He didn’t know how strong my friend Geralt was in arm wrestling, but Triss insisted that I didn’t bother the guests…”
It’s one of those images where you discover something new every time you look at it. Perhaps a Witcher-Lord of the Rings crossover isn’t a bad idea?

It’s not too long before The Witcher returns for its second season, and Netflix continues to build the hype. Empire Magazine got ahold of a new image from the series showing showing Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) looking pale and dour and ready to fight.
The Witcher season 2 drops on December 17 on Netflix.
