Amazon Prime Video is getting ready to whisk us away on a magical adventure with its The Wheel of Time TV series. When can you watch it?

The short answer: soon. The Wheel of Time will premiere on Friday, November 19. In fact, the first three episodes will drop on that same day, meaning you will have a lot to enjoy over the weekend.

Why is Amazon releasing three episodes at once? We assume they want to get people well and truly hooked and salivating for Episode 4. The bad news is that there are only eight episodes in this whole first season, so by the time you burn through the first three you’ll already be almost halfway done.

The Wheel of Time TV series

The Wheel of Time follows the story of Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski), a farm boy who lives in a rural part of a vast continent. When the Aes Sedai sorceress Moiraine Damodred (Rosamund Pike) comes calling, he and his friends will start out on a journey that will change themselves and change the world.

That’s actually giving the series the short shrift; The Wheel of Time is a massive series, with 14 books of source material by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson to draw on. The TV show will surely change things to make it fit; already it seems to be putting more emphasis on Moiraine.

Will Amazon be able to get through all 14 books? We’ll see how they do when The Wheel of Time premieres in just a couple of weeks!
