Who does Harry Styles play in Eternals?

Well before Marvel’s Eternals came out, word had gotten around that none other than Harry Styles was in the MCU movie. Yep, Harry Styles from One Direction. He’s in the mid-credits scene, so he doesn’t have a big role. But could that be a preview of something larger?
At the end of the film, the remaining Eternals — Thena, Makkari and Druig — gather in their ship intending to reach out to the other Eternals in the galaxy and tell them the truth about their origins. But the three sense that something is off.
At the end of the film, we see that the Eternals who stayed on Earth (including Sersi) are in big trouble, as Arishem the Celestial has found out they had foiled his plan to hatch a new Celestial. But almost out of nowhere, we see that the ship has a couple of new visitors, including the troll Pip (Patton Oswalt). This is the guy who introduces the Eternals to Eros, aka Starfox, aka Harry Styles’ character.
Who is Eros in the MCU?
As explained by the man himself, Eros is an Eternal and the brother of Thanos. In the comics, it’s the same deal. Eros and Thanos are the sons of two Eternals: A’Lars, their father, and Sui-San, their mother.
As you can tell, Eros looks nothing like the purple Mad Titan. And that’s because (at least according to the comics) Thanos was born with Deviant Syndrome, which makes him appear more alien-like compared to his human-looking relatives.
Where the story goes beyond that, though, is anyone’s guess. As Eros promised, he can help the other Eternals get their friends back. It’s likely we’ll see this story develop in a sequel to Eternals, as the movie left us on a pretty big cliffhanger. Whether or not Harry Styles will be a big part of that remains to be seen.
It’s possible Styles will return in a limited capacity to help Thena and the others, but will just set them on their way and then exit stage left. Or we can see the “Watermelon Sugar” singer have a larger role in the MCU, becoming a regular of Phase 4. We’ll have to wait and see to be sure.
