Titantic Studios, where Game of Thrones was filmed, is up for sale
By Dan Selcke
The iconic Belfast studio where HBO filmed Game of Thrones is on the market.
Game of Thrones famously injected a lot of energy into film and TV production industry of Northern Ireland. The show filmed all over the country, with its home base at Titantic Studios in Belfast. A lot of iconic scenes were shot there over the years.
Now, the 42,000 square foot studio is up for sale, as laid out by commercial property consultants Riddell McKibbin. Located on Queens Road just east of the city centre, the building has two massive stages separated by an acoustic door (so named because it doesn’t let sound pass from one stage to another) that can be removed to make one huge space. Neighbors include the Painthall Studio, TEC Belfast, Amazon Distribution Hub, the Innovation Centre, Science Park, Arc Apartments, Premier Inn, PRONI Office and Citi Bank HQ.
“This is a truly unique space and there will be no doubt much excitement as this studio, now known all over the world due to shows filmed here, comes to the market,” said Mark Riddell, Director at Riddell McKibbin. “The studio is a once-in-a-lifetime investment opportunity for any purchaser and so we would not expect this to remain on the market for long.”
The listing doesn’t have a price, but it does say that offers are “invited.” Put in an offer of $10, what do you have to lose?
After Game of Thrones, the studio has played host to movies like Dungeons & Dragons starring Chris Pine. HBO is making a prequel series to Game of Thrones called House of the Dragon, but its base of operations is in England.
