NFTs (non-fungible tokens) are all the rage lately. Essentially, they’re units of digital data — often an image, meme, audio clip, and so on — with a watermark that makes them brands them as unique. So you could own, in theory, an NFT of that picture where the little girl looks creepily at the camera while a house goes up in flames behind her, or whatever. We’re still figuring this out.

But while we figure it out, people are taking advantage of the opportunity. For instance, Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) is selling NFTs through her charity SameYou, which endeavors to help people recover from brain injuries, something Clarke knows a lot about since suffering multiple aneurysms on the set of Game of Thrones. She talks about it a bit in the video below:

Here are some of the NFTs SameYou will make available:

  • 4K video renders and spoken word from Emilia Clarke focused on brain-injury healing created in partnership with the creative team at Pholio
  • The one-of-a-kind physical chainmail Atelier Versace dress Emilia Clarke debuted at the 68th Emmy Awards in 2016 when she was nominated for best supporting actress for her role in Game of Thrones
  • A digital metaverse recreation of the dress that can be displayed and worn by one’s avatar in the metaverse of their choice
  • 2D, 3D and hologram artwork created by award-winning photographer Steven Sebring through his proprietary Pure Reality capture process
  • Signed physical artwork and Game of Thrones collectibles from the queen of dragons herself

Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) also has NFTs on the brain, although she’s more at the beginning stages:

And if that’s not enough Maisie Williams for you (and when is it?), you can also enjoy this video of her posing her heart out in a Cartier ad:

John Bradley (Sam Tarly) stars alongside Jennifer Lopez in Marry Me

Moving on from NFTs, Game of Thrones star John Bradley (Samwell Tarly) appears in Marry Me, a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson. In a very realistic scenario, J.Lo’s pop star character marries a complete rando (Wilson) at her concert after she learns her intended is cheating on her. Bradley plays her manager Collin Calloway.

Marry Me comes out on February 14. Because romance?

Also in moving trailers, Iwan Rheon is a million miles from Ramsay Bolton in the trailer for A Christmas Number One, where he plays a metalhead convinced by his niece to write a Christmas tune:

A Christmas Number One premieres on Sky Cinema and NOW on Friday, December 10.

And finally, for no particular reason, here are some cool-looking pictures of Carice van Houten (Melisandre):

The Red Woman looks good in black and yellow. Who knew?

Next. George R.R. Martin working “too bloody hard” on The Winds of Winter, other stuff. dark
