The first season of The Wheel of Time is airing right now on Amazon Prime Video, and the company is in this for the long haul. They’re already working on season 2, which means a variety of new characters coming our way. The book series by Robert Jordan is 14 books long, after all; there’s a lot of ground to cover.

Generally speaking, the first season of the show covers The Eye of the World, the first book Jordan’s saga. That book ends with our heroes visiting the far land of Shienar, which has a lot of contact with the Blight, the barren land where the servants of the Dark One reside. According to Deadline, the show has cast three new actors for season 2, which adapts the second book in the series, The Great Hunt.

First up, Shakespearean actor Guy Roberts will play Uno Nomesta, a one-eyed soldier and tracker who serves Lord Agelmar, the leader of the Shienaran city of Fal Dara, who we should meet at the end of season 1. A Discovery of Witches star Gregg Chillingirian plays Ingtar Shinowa, another Shienaran soldier, and one who’s hiding a secret. Finally, The Last Kingdom star Arnas Fedaravicius (Sihtric) is Masema, a Shienaran soldier who becomes an adherent of the Dragon Reborn.

The Wheel of Time adds cast members

The Last Kingdom is about to end, so this is a nice lateral slide for Fedaravicius, from a history show to a fantasy show. And we’ll surely hear more about new cast members as season 2 gets closer. Hopefully it’ll be out next year.

But first we have a few more episodes of the first season to enjoy! New episodes of The Wheel of Time come out on Fridays on Amazon Prime Video.
