Servant, the show where a grieving couple is haunted by a creepy nanny and a fake baby, is getting one more season on Apple TV+.
Servant has been quietly creeping people out on Apple TV+ since 2019. It’s about a wealthy Philadelphia couple (of course they’re in Philadelphia) whose marriage is put under pressure when their infant son Jericho dies. They get a lifelike doll who looks like Jericho to help them grieve, a weird nanny named Leanne moves in, and things start to get weird…well, weirder.
Also, Harry Potter veteran Rupert Grint is around talking in an American accent. It’s an interesting show, and it has a third season coming out on January 21. Check out the trailer:
And season 3 must be good, cause Apple TV+ has renewed the show for one more season before seeing how it goes over with audiences. At first there was some confusion over whether the fourth season would indeed be the last, but Shyamalan left no room for interpretation on Twitter:
So there you go: four seasons, 40 episodes, one creepy nanny and a baby who won’t stay dead. Servant, ladies and gentlemen.
After a couple years when his schtick started to wear thin, Shyamalan has had a bit of a career revival in recent years, with his latest movie Old getting a wide release. He’s not seen as the wunderkind he was back in the days of The Sixth Sense, but he’s still built himself a neat little horror empire.
