Are Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home?
By WiC Staff
Spider-Man: No Way Home is finally here, and fans want to know if the rumors are true. Are former Spider-Men Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in this thing?
Tom Holland’s third Spider-Man movie finds Peter Parker trying to reset the universe after everyone found out his secret identity at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. He enlists the help of Doctor Strange, who casts a spell, but it goes wrong. The multiverse is ripped open, and several villains from Spider-Man movies past break into Peter’s world to confront him.
The whole idea behind the movie is to celebrate Spider-Man nostalgia, so it stands to reason that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield — both of whom played Spider-Man in earlier movies — might be in it too. But are they? Well, the movie isn’t officially out yet, but enough people have now seen it that the leaks are unavoidable. So it’s time for us to reveal SPOILERS.
Yes, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are in Spider-Man: No Way Home
The truth is out: both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are in the movie, playing other versions of Peter Parker from other universes. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker interacts with them; it’s all part of the story.
Some other rumored characters appear too. We already knew that Willam Dafoe was back as the Green Goblin, that Alfred Molina was returning as Doctor Octopus, and that Jamie Foxx was around as Electro. In terms of other Spider-villains, Tom Hardy’s Venom appears as well, although after the post-credits scene for Venom: Let There Be Carnage, that’s not a surprise.
What’s slightly bigger is that Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil, has a bit part in the movie, and that Elizabeth Olson’s Wanda Maximoff appears after the credits! It ends up that just about every rumor was true.
Spider-Man: No Way Home releases to a general audience this Friday, December 17.
