There weren’t many things about Netflix’s Iron Fist adaption that comic book fans enjoyed and championed, but the exception was the introduction and development of Jessica Henwick’s Colleen Wing.

From the moment Colleen first appeared, fans were immediately drawn to the character and Henwick’s performance. Her appearance in The Defenders spinoff only cemented her as one of the most beloved characters on any of Netflix’s Marvel shows.

When we last saw Colleen in what would become the Iron Fist series finale, we discovered she was a descendent of the first female Iron Fist and got to see her channel the power of the Iron Fist through her sword. The future was looking brighter than ever for a character who had finally found her way into a position of power and was primed to lead her own spinoff series called Daughters of the Dragon spinoff.

Unfortunately, Marvel and Netflix’s relationship soured leaving Colleen and the Marvel-Netflix characters out in the cold.

For some time, it looked as though that chapter in Marvel’s history had closed for good. However, with recent Marvel returns creating buzz, the door seems to have been pushed back open for Henwick, although she’s “torn” about the possibility of returning to the MCU.

Will Jessica Henwick return to the MCU as Colleen Wing?

Given her popularity, it’s no surprise that fans are hoping to see Jessica Hendwick return as Colleen Wing. For her part, Henwick told SYFY Wire that she’d “love to revisit her and get back into [Colleen’s] head.” But there are complications:

"I’m so torn. On the one hand yes, because I loved her and I put so much work into her. And she is one of those characters I tried to protect so hard. I felt really passionate about her story. On the other hand, we left her in a great place. She’s paired up with Misty, she’s got that going on, she’s got her powers, she seems to be good at it. She’s living her best life. And I know if we bring her back, we have to bring her into conflict. I just want her to have her happy ending."

That said, there seems to be an interest from Marvel in bringing her back into the fold so perhaps with the right storyline, Henwick can be persuaded to suit back up as Colleen for a must-desired return to the MCU!

Why Jessica Henwick’s Star Wars character didn’t return for The Last Jedi

Jessica Henwick has been a part of a lot of major franchises. She played Nymeria Sand on Game of Thrones, is in the upcoming fourth Matrix movie, and played pilot Jess Pava in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

But her Star Wars character wasn’t back for The Last Jedi, and the reason why is pretty funny. “I loved her and I was meant to come back for the next one,” Henwick told SyFy Wire. “And then the director, Rian Johnson… I spoke to him about it the other day, because I finally have worked with him. I asked him, ‘Why didn’t you bring me back?’”

"He thought I died in [Episode VII]…I was like, no dude, I survived. I have a whole series of comic books written about Jess Pava, and he didn’t know that. So he was upset."

But all’s well that ends well, since she’s now working with Johnson on Knives Out 2. She’s gonna conquer the world one day, mark my words.

Next. No, Tom Holland isn’t confirmed for another Spider-Man trilogy. dark
