Robert Pattinson’s debut as Batman may not arrive until March 2022, but that won’t stop fans from wondering if the titular star will return as the Caped Crusader to protect Gotham City in future movies. DC is already producing two spinoff TV shows set within the movie’s continuity, although no additional films have been confirmed. That said, Robert Pattinson has plenty of enthusiasm to continue the story: “I would love to do more,” he told Empire.

The Batman marks Bruce Wayne’s first standalone movie since 2012, when Christian Bale donned the Batsuit in The Dark Knight Rises. Since then, Ben Affleck played Batman in the DC Extended Universe but never got a solo movie.

Pattinson’s The Batman is set only two years into Bruce Wayne’s time as a crime-fighting vigilante. And in the movie, he takes on not one but two of his most famous villains: The Riddler (Paul Dano) and Penguin (Colin Farrell). One of those spinoff shows I mentioned above revolves around the Penguin; the other is about the Gotham Police Department.

Whether we see Pattinson’s Batman develop in future movies remains to be seen, but Pattinson is definitely down to make a trilogy. “I’ve made a kind of map for where Bruce’s psychology would grow over two more movies,” he said. “I would love to do it.”

Director Matt Reeves also sounded off in the interview, talking about how much he owes to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, which many would consider one of the greatest superhero movie series of all time.

"I’ve only ever made each movie as a passion project. This even more so, because when you know something has been done well before, and is so beloved, you can’t just come in and sleepwalk through it. You have to shoot for something. We’re trying to leave our mark on this."

Reeves recently tweeted a rather ominous teaser for the movie. Captioned “Question everything,” the short video shows Batman’s mask as it gradually morphs into a question mark, while police sirens and the patter of rain are heard in the background.

Zoë Kravitz watched lions and cats fight to prepare to play for Catwoman

How best to prepare to become Catwoman? That’s easy: watch cats fight. The internet is awash in cat videos, but I doubt you’ve ever looked into them as deeply as Zoë Kravitz.

Speaking to Empire, Kravitz revealed how she and stunt coordinator Rob Alonzo studied videos of cats and lions fighting to create the most authentic Catwoman we’ve ever seen.

"We watched cats and lions and how they fight, and we talked about what is actually possible when you’re my size, and Batman’s so much stronger than me. What is my skill? It’s being fast and tricky. So we did some really interesting floor work that incorporated different kinds of martial arts and capoeira and a kind of feline, dance-like movement."

Now that’s preparation. I wonder if Robert Pattinson studied bats, or Colin Farrell looked at Penguins. We demand answers.

The Batman is slated to premiere on March 4, 2022.
