Wanda returns in trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
By Dan Selcke
Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently tearing up the box office, but Disney can’t sleep on that for long. It’s already preparing us for its next big barnstormer of a movie: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. (That may be the best title for a Marvel movie yet.)
In No Way Home, Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) casts a spell intended to make people forget that Peter Parker is actually Spider-Man. He probably shouldn’t have done that, because it goes wrong and ends up ripping open the multiverse.
That’s what Stephen Strange is dealing with in this new trailer. And if you’re having trouble with the fabric of reality, there’s one person you need to hit up for help: Wanda Maximoff, who recently created a whole new reality for herself in WandaVision. Watch her return below:
Who is directing Doctor Strange 2?
The first Doctor Strange movie was directed by Scott Derrickson, but for this new one, Marvel tapped cult filmmaker Sam Raimi, who directed the Evil Dead movies and also the 2000s-era Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. He definitely has a way with the trippy and horrific, so this seems right up his alley.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on May 6.
