Captain Marvel came out in 2019, ahead of the giant Marvel climax in Avengers: Endgame. She’ll finally be getting a sequel movie in 2023, although she’ll be sharing the screen with several others.

The Marvels won’t just revolve around Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) herself. It’ll also star Teyonah Parris, last seen as Monica Rambeau in WandaVision. It will star Iman Vellani, who plays lead character Kamala Khan in the upcoming Ms. Marvel show, which is due out on Disney+ later this year.

The movie also stars Zenobia Shroff, who plays Kamala’s mother Muneeba. I mention that because Shroff posted an image on Twitter of some of the cast of the film, and revealed a little more than Marvel probably wanted her to. (The image has since been taken down, of course, but the internet is forever.)

In addition to everyone we already know about, it looks like The Marvels will also star Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, who made a big impression in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok. Also in that image is Lashana Lynch as Monica Rambeau’s mother Maria. As we learned in WandaVision, Maria Rambeau is dead, but that doesn’t mean The Marvels couldn’t have a flashback or something.

Also on board is Zawe Ashton as the villain of the movie. And of course Samuel L. Jackson will be around as Nick Fury. There’s no having a Marvel party without him.

Overall, The Marvels sounds like one of those worldbuilding joints that Marvel Studios loves to make. Will fans be irritated that they have to have watched both WandaVision and Ms. Marvel to fully appreciate all the characters? Time will tell.

The Marvels will hit theaters on February 13, 2023.

Next. The Batman is the most anticipated movie of 2022. dark
