Whoopi Goldberg returns as Guinan in trailer for Star Trek: Picard season 2

There are a lot of Star Trek shows currently on TV — Discovery, Lower Decks, Prodigy, etc — but the most well-received has probably been Star Trek: Picard, which sees Patrick Stewart return to the role he played decades ago in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The first season, which is available on Paramount+, saw Picard get back into the space exploration game after years on the sidelines, and delighted longtime fans by catching up with old TNG characters like Riker and Deanna Troi. The upcoming second season will keep the cameos flowing. The plot is set into motion when Q (John de Lancie) transports Picard to an alternate reality where the galaxy is ruled over by a fascist regime. To prevent it, Picard and his crew must travel back in time to our world.

It’s enough high-concept sci-fi fun to satisfy any Trek fan, and Q isn’t the only familiar face who will be showing up. Another new trailer reacquaints us with Guinan, a centuries-old alien bartender played by Whoopi Goldberg on TNG and in a few of the movies. Watch below!
