Memory’s Legion by James S.A. Corey — March 15

Fans of The Expanse received a double dose of series-ending heartache last year, as both the novels and the popular television adaptation came to an end. Yet while Leviathan Falls may have marked the end of the book series, we’ll still be getting one more entry into The Expanse from James S.A. Corey in 2022: Memory’s Legion. This book collects all the short fiction that has been written for the series over the years into one volume, which is wonderful for longtime fans who always wished they could have those stories on their shelves as well as newcomers who want to explore this universe.

This collection will feature the stories “Drive,” “The Butcher of Anderson Station,” “The Churn,” “Gods of Risk,” “The Vital Abyss,” “Strange Dogs,” and “Auberon,” as well as the brand new Expanse novella “The Sins of Our Fathers.” Many of these short stories were incorporated into the show, such as the Laconia bits during the sixth season (which were based off “Strange Dogs”), so if you want to get the full Expanse experience, this is going to be an essential read.

Now the question will be, do you read the stories all in a row, or do you read the rest of The Expanse and pause to read each work of short fiction wherever it fits into the greater narrative. Such are the quandaries of the super fan.
