Filming is underway on The Wheel of Time season 2, which means new bits of information about the upcoming return to Randland are making their way out to the public. The latest is a seeming confirmation of both the city of Caemlyn’s inclusion in the show’s second season, as well as the filming location for the Royal Palace there.

Caemlyn is the crown city of the powerful nation known as Andor, and plays a crucial role throughout the book series. In the first novel, The Eye of the World, our heroes gather there before setting out for the Way Gate which brings them to Borderlands. Rand al’Thor also meets several other key characters there, such as the princess Elayne Trakand, her brother Gawyn and half-brother Galad, and the Aes Sedai Elaida. The show reworked those events by having Rand, Perrin, Nynaeve and the rest of our heroes regroup in Tar Valon instead, and cut those crucial Caemlyn characters for the moment.

We already knew that Elayne was going to appear next season thanks to the casting announcement that she’ll be played by Ceara Coveney. But the show’s team has kept quiet about whether Elayne would be making her debut in Caemlyn as she did in the books, or some other city. Now, Caemlyn is looking much more likely.

Caemlyn filming location seemingly confirmed on The Wheel of Time

Per CBR, this reported confirmation comes from Silverscreen Tours, a company which specializes in guided tours to locations used for television and movies. In a recent listing, they have Ploskovice Castle in Prague credited as the Royal Palace of Andor from The Wheel of Time. You can even see a picture of the castle on their site, and it’s both pretty striking visually as well as very different from anything we’ve seen on the show to date.

While this isn’t a confirmation from Amazon or the show’s team itself, it’s still pretty legit. Silverscreen does tours to locations from Game of ThronesOutlanderThe Lord of the Rings and many other huge projects. It’s unlikely that they’re offering tours of Ploskovice Castle just on the off-chance that it’s going to be the Royal Palace of Andor in The Wheel of Time.

That being said, things can change, so it’s worth keeping a pinch of skepticism handy until we get the actual confirmation from showrunner Rafe Judkins or someone else associated with The Wheel of Time.

Season 2 of The Wheel of Time is currently in production, with no set release date as of yet. Season 1 is available to stream on Prime Video.
