The Walking Dead is in the midst of airing its eleventh and final season, but don’t think that means that the franchise is going down. Oh no: AMC is exploding this thing. The newest new Walking Dead show is Tales of the Walking Dead, which will catch up with characters from past episodes — as well as introduce new characters — to tell discrete, standalone stories.

And now, per Deadline, we have a cast. The first chunk of episodes will star Anthony Edwards (Inventing Anna), Parker Posey (Lost In Space), Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Poppy Liu (Dead Ringers) and Jillian Bell (Rough Night).

Crews and Posey are probably the biggest names on here, but remember: because this is an anthology series, they don’t necessarily have to show up multiple episodes. They could both be in one-and-done installments for all we know.

Tales of the Walking Dead will premiere this summer

The Walking Dead overboss Scott M. Gimple was pleased by the announcement. “Anthony, Jillian, Terry, Parker, and Poppy are the first wave of singular talents who will further expand the Walking Dead Universe into harrowing, hilarious, heartfelt, and horrifying new realms and we couldn’t be happier to welcome them to the family, along with these terrific directors,” he said. “More announcements, more wonderful folks to come.”

Showrunner Channing Powell also weighed in: “We’ve worked hard to create unique, interesting and unexpected characters for both old and new TWD fans, and I’m thrilled that these are the actors who will bring them to life. I can’t wait for you to see the depth, drama, terror and, yes, humor they bring to the screen.”

The Walking Dead will return to AMC with more episodes of its final season on February 20. It’ll take another break after that before airing one more chunk that brings everything home. Tales of the Walking Dead will premiere in the summer, although we don’t know if that’ll be before or after The Walking Dead proper finishes. Either way, that’s a lot of zombies on your TV.
