The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power isn’t coming in February 2022
By WiC Staff
There’s so much TV coming in 2022, and so much of it is fantasy and sci-fi-themed. House of the Dragon, The Sandman, about 30 different Star Trek shows…it’s all on the way, and a lot of it looks pretty good.
One of the biggest such series is definitely The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Amazon Prime Video’s adventure into Middle-earth. This show is set during the Second Age of Middle-earth, when Sauron was forging the Rings of Power, elves were still plentiful and powerful, and Bilbo Baggins wouldn’t be born for thousands of years.
But when will we get to watch the show? Well, not this month, unfortunately.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power release date
Back in August of last year, Amazon took the unusual step of revealing the release date for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (back then we didn’t know about the subtitle) early: we’ll get to watch the premiere of this show come September 2, 2022.
Knowing Amazon, they’ll probably release a few episodes at a time; they tend to like to dump three at once and then release the remainder one per week. The image above is the only picture we’ve gotten from the series so far, although I wouldn’t be surprised if got a teaser trailer in the not-too-distant future.
